I love to keep up to date on the latest news and two hours ago an article came up in the St. Louis Business Journal showing that General Motors Corp. reported losses of $30.9 billion in 2008. Incredible. Here’s a link to the article. The article outlines the plans that GM has to change its strategies by 2014.

Isn’t it a great time to own a small business?

It couldn’t be better! While the big companies are taking 4-6 years to make changes to their businesses, the oportunity for small business owners is wide open to adapt and profit. As the owner of a small business, if you need to make a change, you can just make it, usually in the time it takes to think about it. The change process goes something like this, “I think I need to change something. Hmmm… yep… done.” And the change is made.

As your competition announces the changes that will take years to implement, small business owners like you can make the change immediately and capture a huge share of the market.

These can be prosperous times for the at home entrepreneur, especially those who have decided to take their business online where the marketing is FREE and anyone can compete with the big dogs.
