Where in the World Is all This Traffic Coming From?

One of the exciting things about marketing through the internet is watching your traffic increase over time. But this is more than an nifty thing to check out on the weekends. It’s essential that online businesses know exactly where their traffic is coming from and what those visitors are doing when they get to your website. Why? So you can deliver exactly what your visitors are looking for.

Your visitors will often come to your website and perform searches for the specific information they are looking for.  The truth is, the days of simply surfing the web out of boredom are long gone. The internet has quick become a resource for targeted information. When you are able to effectively track and measure the traffic that is coming to your site, you are one step closer to harnessing the power of the internet.

For example, if you have a site that sells artwork and your tracking software tells you that most visitors are looking at paintings that are predominantly blue in color and that those visitors are coming from the U.K., maybe you should put some blue paintings on the hompage or gear your online marketing toward that specific group of buyers. Maybe you should find more blue paintings and survey your past customers to see if the are interested in buying more blue-toned paintings. There are paid and free tracking softwares out there. Find a good one that delivers detailed information and put it to use.

Double Your Traffic and Double Your Income

Online marketing is a numbers game my friends. I can’t reinforce it enough when I say that it’s all about the numbers. Although the mere sound of the “N” word  may sound like a bummer to those who are not natural analysts, the simplicity of the formula for doubling the sales generated through your website is simple:

Have You Tried Google Chrome? If Not, You’re Missing Out on a Lightning Fast Web Browser

After about a month of browser testing, I just recently switched the default browser on my computer to Google Chrome. Google released the browser a few months ago but I hesitated to promote it until I had tested it out myself. Although there are a few websites that aren’t totally compatible with Chrome, the speed and ease of use far outweighs the alternative.

It’s fast and simple. When you need the browser open, it fires right up and is ready to go. You can easily rearrange the browser tabs. It also allows to you to drag and drop web pages from the browser tabs to your desktop and to other browser windows. All this in a speedy package.  That said, it’s not going to speed up your internet connection, of course, but what does come through your connection will show up on your screen pretty darn fast. 

For CSS and web editing, I still go back to Firefox. The CSS editor plugins for Firefox are still top notch in my book and I have yet to find one for Google Chrome. What I’ll usually do if I’m editing a website is open the site once in Firefox to edit/test the changes, then apply the changes and refresh the page in Google Chrome since it’s so fast.
